De Peking Challenge departs on Saturday July 12th from Amsterdam, the 7200 miles will take 27 days. Not only the distance but also the terrain makes this rally a real challenge. Teams pass the Eurasia point in the Oeral mountains, leave behind rough Siberia, cross the desolate area in Mongolia and challenge the Gobi desert. De Peking Challenge departs from Amsterdam on July 12th 2008 and will arrive on 7 August 7th, exactly one day before the Olympic Games in Beijing will start.
Official Partner of the Peking Challenge is the Chinese car manufacturer Landwind. This company plays an important role in the preparations and support during the Peking Challenge. The board of the Peking Challenge also deploys similar initiatives Africa, the Middle East and Siberia. In total more than 2.5 million Euro is collected to support local charitable institutions.
The Peking Challenge also supports Dance4Life, Plan International and Fight Cancer.
